Set sail on an exploration of the practical nautical style that is a true Fall essential, The P-Coat.

Originally worn by working sailors and fishermen, this coat was adopted by the British Royal Navy and the US Navy from the Dutch for its use against the harsh cold weather. The Peacoat gets its name from the Dutch word “pije”, which was a type of coarse woolen fabric.

Recognized by its neatly tapered double-breasted silhouette and perfectly placed pockets, the Cockpit USA Peacoat is the ideal addition to any Fall wardrobe. This coat is not only rooted in military history, it is practical for everyday use. In no particular order, please see the Cockpit USA Peacoat collection made for both men and women.

The Cockpit USA Admiral USN Peacoat features an ulster collar that can be buttoned-up to protect against the harsh cold weather elements. Five pockets have been added to this jacket’s interior for additional storage. Shown above on Country Singer Chase Rice, this style can be worn casually with a pair of jeans and a white tee, or it can be styled with a more formal attire for a day at the office, or even over a suit.

Women's P-coat

The Cockpit USA Women’s Peacoat is made of a soft but firm melton wool and features a simple yet elegant feminine plaid flannel lining for a tailored classic. Our Cockpit USA Pilot Ambassador, Ashley Brown is shown here wearing the Cockpit USA Women’s Peacoat effortlessly in-between flights.

Naval Short P-Coat

This historic silhouette is updated for a modern fit in our Naval Short Leather Peacoat, shown above on Fashion Icon Mr. Rutherford. Offered in the finest oiled deer tanned calfskin leather, this Cockpit USA Peacoat pays tribute to the British Reefer Coat; a shortened coat made for ease of maneuverability. This style was recently featured on Gear Moose’s 20 Best Men’s Peacoats for 2022.

Vintage Naval Officer's P-Coat

Drawing from the rugged design needed by sailors both above the high seas and below in submarines, this men’s vintage leather coat has all the modern style of today. Though technically not a Peacoat, the style shown here on Actor Leonardo DiCaprio is the Vintage Leather Naval Officer’s Coat, available in a smoother yet durable goatskin leather.

Last but certainly not least, the USN Bridge Coat is inspired by the classic wool winter coats worn by Naval Officers, Chief Petty Officers and even Mid Shipmen Cadets. Adorned with eight authentic USN gold eagle and anchor embossed buttons along its front closure, the tailoring of this coat's double breasted front enclosure also lends to its classic formal look and function.

You will love the style and practicality of our Cockpit USA Peacoats. No other peacoat can compare. The classic Peacoat is back on trend and selling quickly. Order yours today!
