AAM: Republic P-47 Photo Album

As proud sponsors of the American Airpower Museum and proprietors of leather aviation jackets, it could be assumed that we at Cockpit USA take an interest in aviation…! This week we've delved into our photo album and collected together a series of images of the Republic P-47. Also known as the ‘Jug’, this fighter jet was the largest, heaviest, and most expensive aircraft to be powered by a single piston engine in history. Armed to the rafters, this sky bird contained eight .50-caliber machine guns - four per wing making it a force to be reckoned with.
