Here at Cockpit USA we've been rummaging through History.com's impeccably made short documentaries of various aspects of WWII and came across this very honest reel which we just had to share. A native of Oklahoma, Captain Charles Scheffel recounts his time in battle, the continuous death defying events he was faced with and his all encompassing duty to his friends and men. Despite his humble demeanor, Captain Charles Scheffe was awarded two Purple Hearts, one Bronze Star, one Silver Star and the French Croix de Guerre and this video is another well deserved tribute to his bravery.
