Movie Monday: Saving Private Ryan

A classic of the modern age, Saving Private Ryan is a Movie Monday pick which includes action, heartbreak, sacrifice and triumph. Led by the heroic U.S. Army Captain John H. Miller played by Tom Hanks, a group of eight soldiers go in search of paratrooper Private First Class James Francis Ryan, played by Matt Damon. As the last survivor of four servicemen brothers, it is the mission of Miller and his company to find Ryan within the raging battle in Normandy and return him to his family. Commended for its realistic depiction of the war and directed by the one and only Steven Spielberg, Saving Private Ryan has five Oscars, two BAFTA's and two Golden Globes on its mantle, along with many others, including the Cockpit USA movie of choice for today!
