Movie Monday: The Desert Rats

Filmed in 1953 and directed by Robert Wise, The Desert Rats is an American war picture centered around the siege of Tobruk during WWII. Starring Richard Burton as Captain 'Tammy' MacRoberts, a ruthless but successful  officer in the British Eighth Army in charge of an Australian ANZAC unit fighting to defend Tobruk against the German Army. Intended as a semi-sequel to the blockbusting war movie The Desert Fox, this follow up features a confrontation between MacRoberts and General Rommel with a guest appearance from James Mason back in his original role. Action packed and brimming with daring feats and conquests, The Desert Rats will have you perched on the very edge of your seat! Cockpit USA approved.
