They say everything comes at a price. They also say nothing is ever really free. However, we at Cockpit USA beg to disagree. Renowned for being a city that can cost a pretty penny, New York City’s annual SummerStage program makes its delightful comeback at the start of the warmer months, bringing with it an array of high class performances from music to drama, dance and culture. The best part? It’s free. Designed to put culture back within easy reach of everyone, the program brings the diverse communities of NYC together in celebration of contemporary, classic and brand new art forms. With stages set across all the five boroughs, there’s never a performance too far, however, we at Cockpit USA like to keep it traditional in every sense of the word, with the Central Park set up as our firm favorite. This year’s eclectic schedule sees dance by Camille A. Brown, music by Amadou & Mariam and Theophilus London along with a series of recitals by the Metropolitan Opera so there really is something for everyone!
