"World War II Remembered" Commemorative Pen
"Years ago I did a custom job for the Navy Seal Museum in Florida. They have a historian contact in France that was able to get a piece of oak from the bunker for the Museum. The remaining small pieces I was able to keep." -Stan Lucien from WPens.
This handcrafted WWII commemorative pen was created to commemorate and remember World War II. The teak was removed during a restoration of the Battleship North Carolina. Imbedded in the cap is a piece of a German bunker which overlooked Omaha Beach.
The German Bunker WN74 had a clear view of the landing of Omaha Beach on D-Day June 6, 1944. On June 7th the bunker was captured by elements of the 116th Infantry Regiment and parts of the 2nd and 5th Ranger Battalions.
This WWII commemorative pen honors the sacrifices made by so many on June 6th, 1944 in Normandy, France and in all of the other campaigns we fought until the end of World War II.
This American double twist pen is similar to a 1920's design. The pen twists in either direction to lock. The Parker™ type refill is black ink, medium point and can be easily found. To change the refill, unscrew the cap and pull out the refill.
