"I bought an AVIREX A2 in the 1980's I loved, but lost 15 years ago. Finally decided to get another A2 last year and picked Cockpit's Z2107H in Brown. I was so impressed with the quality I then got a 21st Century USAF A2, and finally this 40th Anniversary A2. All are wonderfully made and different enough to serve different occasions. The Z2107H is the heaviest of the three and is the best for colder temps, although it is wearable even when it is warmer. The soft goatskin and modern updates of the 21st century USAF make it the most generally wearable. The 40th anniversary is a bit lighter than the Z2107H and is my go-to for temps in the 50's, and it's got a great old-time look to it. The leather for all three is everything I expected it to be. I'm 6'0" and 190 lbs and the size 44 fits me perfectly on all three models. I also very much appreciate the veteran discount CockpitUSA offers."

Excellent

"There are many A-2 leather jackets on the market, and many brands in Japan produce them with modern and fashionable cuts. However, I believe that to truly replicate the old-fashioned look, texture, and feel, it is more appropriate for this jacket, which has significant historical value. I have a thicker neck, so it's rare for me to be able to fasten the collar of this jacket, which is commendable. The sleeve length is just right, and the length of the jacket perfectly covers the belt. I think the jacket has a boxy and slightly oversized fit. I am 5’10, muscular, the size 46 fits me well. You can trust the size chart . It's actually a matte color with a relatively rough texture, combined with a slight vintage effect. This jacket will definitely make you feel excited when you hold it in your hands."

Best leather jacket I’ve owned

"The Cockpit USA A-2 40th Anniversary WWII Reissue is easily the best leather jacket I’ve owned. The horsehide is high-quality with that rich leather smell, the craftsmanship feels solid, and the fit has that classic blouson silhouette that’s true to the originals. I really value that it’s made in the USA—an authentic American jacket with American heritage. Excellent Jacket and Customer Service

"Extremely well made horsehide leather jacket. Being authentic in details it's sizing is different than I expected. At 5'8" and 172 lbs I had to go up to a size 44 to get enough room at the waist to close the jacket. In the 21st Century model of the A-2 a size 40 was a perfect fit for me. All around beautiful jacket, well worth extra cost to purchase. Being made in the USA is always the deciding factor."

Great fit and finish

"I always wanted an A-2, but never got after it. This jacket has the right amount of fitting without being tight on an older fellow sporting a bit extra weight. The size guide was spot on. The horsehide has a worn look without a worn out appearance. Also, I like the authentic detailing of no hidden pockets to bury one’s hands. If you are on the fence, get off and purchase this nice jacket. A G-1 is next for me though I could quit with this very easily."

A2 Flight Jacket

"Good morning, I found my A2 jacket to be outstanding in most every respect, and I am very happy with it. However, I found the zipper to be sub-standard. This excellent jacket seems to call out for a much more rigorous, industrial quality zipper, I have purchased such a zipper and will soon be installing it on my jacket, which I am sure will make it perfect for all my needs.
