Well made
"Well made and beautiful Order up on size ( especially if you want to layer)."
Inspired by the USAF N3B Parka, Cockpit USA’s Park Ranger coat is a modernized version of a military classic. Using a unique water repellant durable waxed cotton that wears down gradually to provide a worn vintage look, Cockpit USA’s take on the mountaineering parka coat truly gives the wearer a one of a kind garment. This tough jacket is ready to go anywhere, any time.

"Well made and beautiful Order up on size ( especially if you want to layer)."
"Excellent coat. Currently wearing it with a waffle knit wool henley shirt in 40degree weather, doing weekend chores, and its plenty warm, would be too hot doing strenuous activity at this temperature. The fur collar is TOP TIER. Its cut and fit to size, i think with a fisherman's sweater underneath I would be fine down below sub freezing and with precipitation easily thanks to the waxed shell. It is absolutely worth picking up on sale, I would definitely recommend."
"Got this on clearance and entering my second season with it. I love it. I likely would have gotten the green version if it was available in my size, but I like the blue and in hindsight I am not sure which I would have chosen. I was in the market for the perfect parka for the cold and my style and this hit the mark. It doesn't have a lot of insulation but the waxed exterior is a bulletproof shell and with proper layering I would wear this down to 10F (only because I get cold easily and below that I'd move over to my ridiculously puffy down parka). I don't usually use the zipper and my only gripe is that some button threads have started to unravel. The button threads and buttons are not a gripe worthy of removing a star, as they can be easily upgraded / replaced. For sizing, always go with the actual measurements and you will be good."
"Pros: Fit - 6'0" 235lbs, XL fits very well with room to layer. Pay special attention to sleeve, and back length. These will not change, but your waist may... Shell - Canvas, patinas well, rich blue color, durable. Stitching - Tight, straight lines. Hood - Roomy, adjustable, real fur (removeable). Purchasing – Easy, straight-forward, fast shipping (< 1 week) Neutral: Zipper – Unsure if YKK quality or equivalent. Loose and tends to get caught on teeth when using one hand. Insulation – Synthetic, so water resistant. Untested, so I cannot say if it will hold up. Although, I doubt this will keep someone warm below 0, so don’t plan any winter expeditions with this in mind (they do not make this claim either). Cons: Synthetic Liner – I find synthetic linings to typically be the first parts of jackets to fail, so this gives me doubts about the longevity of the interior (0 doubts about the canvas shell). I would have liked to see wool/cotton. It should be noted I KNEW I was buying it with a synthetic interior. NOTE: They do offer lining replacements!!! Buttons – Flimsy, plastic, stitching is expected to fail. It should be noted, virtually every jacket has plastic buttons, but it would be nice to see something like wood or horn with reinforced stitching. Pockets – The pockets that do exist are roomy and perfectly fine. However, you are limited to two exterior pockets. It would have been nice to have 2 additional pockets on the outside with button closures to store items you would need out in the field. This is my first time purchasing from Cockpit USA. Ultimately, I would give this jacket a 4/5. It’s great, but there’s room for improvement on a few small things. At its sale price of ~$450 I would purchase it again, but I would recommend avoiding at its current full price of ~$600. For that price the issues mentioned should not exist, ESPECIALLY if you plan on doing any form of work in it. The build quality has convinced me that I could easily buy from COCKPIT USA again, even if I may question some of the materials or design choices for this jacket. They have a wide selection, so I suspect some item quality v. price will vary. Watch for sales, get a good fit, and you probably won’t regret it!"
"Couldn't be more pleased with the jacket. The waxed cotton is thick and a little tacky (like all good waxed cotton) and while it can't compete with modern synthetic fabrics for weight savings it can be re-waxed easily and will still be looking fantastic in 30 years. Jacket construction exceeds expectations even at the price. Look is very unique and the blue is even more beautiful in person. I am 6'1" 175 lbs and usually a medium, I took their advice and sized up to L which was a good idea. I can just get a knit sweater under comfortably but it doesn't feel oversized even with just a shirt."
