The Mustang A-2 jacket is undoubtably one of the most iconic flight jackets ever made, worn by U.S. Army Air Force pilots and aircrew in action over the skies of Europe and the Pacific during WWII. A coveted possession of those who wore them, the A-2 would break in nicely over time, distressing and developing an aged patina from wear. We have created the men's Mustang A-2 jacket to give you the rugged and classic look of a finely crafted vintage jacket. Crafted from full grain vegetable tanned goatskin specially treated during the production process, our Mustang jacket for sale has a distinct broken in look. Much like original A-2s of the period our Mustang A-2 jacket also features the vintage style collar stand, hook and eye collar clasps, and snap collar, and pocket fasteners. Although vintage in appearance this jacket has been finely tailored for today’s man, for a true to size fit. Updated features include our signature applique lining, side entry, and interior wallet/phone pockets for everyday wear functionality. The Mustang A-2 jacket is perfect for a day of flying, or a classic look for a day or night on the town. The men's Mustang A-2 Jacket is finely crafted and manufactured in the USA.

The signature Cockpit USA Distressed Treatment is a unique process developed by our company Founder, Jeff Clyman. This jacket will not only look like a vintage jacket, it will feel and fit like one too! Initial measurements of our distressed jacket styles may vary slightly once given the signature Cockpit USA Distressed Treatment. Please note that two distressed jackets will never look and fit exactly the same, and that is how we like it! These will include highs and lows in the finish as well as a bit of pilling on knit cuffs and waistband.

Nice Jacket but. . .
"As a UK based customer I wanted to get the sizing right for the order as the import tax is considerable and making returns a very difficult process. The team answered my initial questions quickly, which informed my purchase. However, after purchase was made and having concerns about quality assurance (the reason I ended up moving from my usual supplier to Cockpit) I wanted to some reassurances. NADA - radio silence. . . which gave a poor impression of the company. The jacket arrived and the fit was ideal - being longer in the arm was exactly what I needed and the L fitted my 44 chest 36 waist perfectly. The leather nice to look at (was not sure what to expect with a weather goat skin) and overall feel good. Lining does seem a bit loose. . . but in short I think it is a great jacket. Wearing it out for the first time (during Edinburgh festival) I got two compliments straight off the bat about the jacket. So 4 stars as the customer journey is not only about the product, but feeling secure with the supplier and valued. I did not feel that with questions going unanswered. Which is a real shame as I am very seriously thinking of a very quick second purchase. . ."

"I ordered this jacket knowing it was on backorder. It took 4 weeks to get here which is way shorter time than expected. This is the best leather jacket I have & the last one I need. (Have 4 others not made in USA ) just got this today & I cannot be happier,, this is soft goatskin with the best distressed look ever. Fits perfect 2XL I couldn’t be happier with the best leather jacket I have ever owned. Well worth it,, I’ve spent way more on jackets I wasn’t happy with. Should’ve went to cockpit first cuz this is as far as I am concerned my only leather jacket now. Great job COCKPIT. 👍"

"I am 75+years old and very particular about the fit of my clothes preferring exact sizing to S,M,L, etc. I take a 40 Short in a sports coat, stand 5'6", weigh 143 pounds with a 34" waist, 39" chest and 32/33 shirt sleeve. I was intrigued with the distressed quality of the Mustang and bought a Small based on the Cockpit size chart. The fit is very good, however, I had the sleeves altered 1 1/2 inches to suit my preference. The waist is a wee bit snug but nothing to lose sleep over. I hope this description is useful to those of you with a similar body type."
