Navy SWO Leather Jacket
The US Navy has recently released their new Surface Warfare Officers’ jacket (SWO). The new SWO jacket is similar in style to the current issue Navy G-1 without the fake/synthetic fur collar of today’s government issue jackets. The pockets are Mil Spec and are larger than the traditional G-1 as the pockets have hidden side entry pockets layered behind the patch pockets. Unlike the current issue jacket which is made from dull, stiff, and heavy printed “goat grain” cowhide, we have chosen to make our SWO in the same leather style as the “original” G-1s from full grain, goatskin leather. The goatskin is softer, flexible, and more comfortable right out of the box, yet still extremely rugged and lighter in weight. "I wanted a black jacket and this jacket fit the bill, even with the name tag attachment. I had a name tag made for fun since I have no affiliation to the navy. I am 5’9”/181# with a 42”-43” chest. I bought a size 44 and it fits well provided I wear no more than a button down or t-shirt. The leather is uniform and very nice. I recommend this jacket."
"Jacket runs small. I ordered a 52 based on a 48 inch chest. Kind of snug but if I drop a few more pounds it will fit better. I would be even more comfortable if you offered long length. 6'6" 240 Lbs"
"Sizes seem to run small. I had to spend many additional dollars in funding return of first jacket/shipping second jacket in order to feel comfortable while wearing the item. The arms are a tad long but I can live with that. Otherwise, I'm happy with the purchase."
