To accommodate harsh winter weather, Cockpit USA has modified the B3 Bomber with the addition of a shearling, racoon fur-trimmed hood to add extra warmth and protection from the elements. Aside from this luxurious detachable zippered hood, the black B3 bomber jacket retains all the original features of our standard B3 in the rich, sophisticated black. Brought into service around 1934 and a firm favorite among bomber crews during WWII, the sturdy B3 bomber jacket was originally designed for both open cockpit and high altitude flying in the 1930s. Please note that the shearling is tanned to “antique” as you wear it, giving “highs and lows” in the color so it looks as if you had this jacket since WWII. "I just received my jacket and I'm very happy about it. "Find my fit" recommended size 52, but I took size 54. I'm 5 feet 11" and I weight 300 lb. I think that size 52 would have been "better" fit for this jacket, but I like a bit looser fit and I'm a bodybuilder so my weight waries. Jacket is wery good quality and I can't find any fault in it. One thing for a wide guy like me; the sleeves were a bit long. So maybe latches? I bet its very warm, Its summer now but I can't wait for autumn so I can wear this jacket. And it looks very good:)"
"Just received my coat today. The fit, leather/shearling quality is good. My only complaint is that the hood is greatly oversized. Almost as if it was intended to go over a motorcycle helmet. That, & also, I was under the impression that each Shearling Coat purchase included a free large canvas bag which it didn't."
