"The Dakota Shearling Coat” retains all of the original features of our standard Hooded B3 coat by still maintaining the luxurious detachable zippered shearling, raccoon fur trimmed hood. The Dakota Hooded Shearling Coat is approximately 31 to 32 inches long (depending on size) and is designed for maximum coverage and warmth. The Basic B3 coat was issued to aviators in 1934 and created as a shorter jacket for practical use in the cockpit or bomber to keep warm but not interfere with functionality. Proudly manufactured in the USA, the Dakota Shearling Sheepskin Coat is longer and well equipped to keep you warmer for the coldest winters to come. Please note that the shearling is tanned to “antique” as you wear it, giving “highs and lows” in the color so it looks as if you had this jacket since WWII. Absolutely Outstanding Cold Weather Solution
"This is an absolutely outstanding coat for the coldest winters. Purchased this coat for coldest temperatures in the heart of winter in Michigan and it performed magnificently. The extra length 31-32 inches, the thick shearling and the hood are essential to keep you warm for those days that dip below 20’s all the way down to zero and below zero. This is a durable, windproof, and almost indestructible alternative to the down puffy coats that seem to dominate this space in the cold weather coat market. This coat, surprisingly, isn’t that heavy and impractical but looks great dressed up or down. The staff at cockpit USA are also excellent at customer service to help and assist you make your dream coat purchase. They are very professional, knowledgeable, courteous and will help you select the best fit and style coat for your particular situation. I know this first hand because I used them exhaustively during my purchases almost to the point where I thought I was annoying them but never once did they ever demonstrate any poor customer service. I even sent an old Avirex A-2 Jacket in for repair and they replaced the lining, zipper, and waistband and cuff fabric and did an awesome job. My old Avirex A-2 looks almost brand new now. Cockpit USA is a class act and they know how to treat customers to deliver on their coat solutions. This is an excellent cold weather coat and and an excellent company and it’s all made in the good old USA by hardworking American workers! I can’t say enough good things about this company. Lastly you pay for what you get and if you’re not satisfied you can return or exchange within 30 days with no problems. If you’re a veteran like myself, former Army Pilot, you can also get a GovX discount. So if you’re on the fence go ahead and buy the Dakota Hooded B3 Coat. You won’t be disappointed!!"

"I have just received the jacket in Brussels! It is absolutely mindblowingly beautiful, I have never seen anything comparable to this, we have no such things in Europe!!! It also fits perfectly, the measurements were accurate - I asked a friend to take my measurements and I sent them by email to Cockpit and they gave me two possible sizes, a regular fit (38), and a more ample one (40), so I went for 40, as I am quite tall (190 cm) and I wanted my waist to be covered fully as I bike a lot in cold weather. I never bought a jacket like this, without trying, and it is just perfect. I am very happy, even if the customs duties were 400 euros :DDDD Now I can feel like Tom Hardy when I wear it :D It is very cold now in Brussels, so I immediately tested the jacket while I rode my bike back home tonight. I have shown the jacket to two of my friends, they also tried them on, and were very impressed, they also said they would get one in future! I am really happy, I expected it to be beautiful, but this has surpassed all my expectations. Europe has no such jackets! This is truly a piece of art! I have one leather shearling jacket made of lamb fur by Hugo Boss (a tailored one), but this one is superior in quality and the price is also better."
